Bring toys when visiting!

artworld.anonymous set up two collection points for toys on the Fisherinsel in Mitte, Berlin, Germany. One is next to 10 Fisherinsel and the other one is in front of 1 Fischerinsel. The following step of the action will be to set up similar collection points in Beijing, China. In Berlin, we collect toys to be shipped to children in China and in China we will collect toys to be shipped to children in Germany.

The collection points are easy to recognise: Look for containers with the ladybirds! They keep the toys safe and dry. A sign next to the container carries information about the action. To call the attention of people living on the Fischerinsel to the action we also distributed leaflets to letterboxes in the neighborhood.

In the container, an infrared sensor keeps watch and if a toy goes through the chute the sensor activates the built-in voice module which recites various local counting-out rhymes to reward donors on the spot.

gibt es nicht.

Die Aktion wird in Kooperation mit State of Autonomia fortgeführt:

The State of Autonomia - an emerging micro-state next door (to Hungary) - is an on-going project of Tamás Blaha and Kornél Szilágyi who generously offered to accomodate the toys of Toyz4…!

Having taken up the invitation, the toys moved into a dependance of the State of Autonomia to enjoy protection from expected seasonal weather conditions. As expected weather conditions might still turn as expected it could become toys unfriendly: Think of wind, snow, rain and frost.

For the time being, the toys stay in the dependance to ensure future transit unharmed to their promised destination. (I.e.: hands of Chinese kids!)

Sergey Karamyschev was born in 1970 in Bamaul, Siberia. He now lives and works in Berlin. He studied piano at the state college of music and finished as concertmaster and music teacher.
