Schaumformation
schwimmfähiger Ringstrukturen aus Ansaugschläuchen.
Schwimmende Ringe unterschiedlicher Grösse verdichten sich zu einer schaumartigen
Struktur. Die Arbeit aus silbergrauen PE (Polyethylen) - Saugschlauchelementen
ist - in sich gesehen - eine abstrakte Proportionsstudie aus gleichen Formen
unterschiedlicher Dimension, die einer Naturerscheinung entlehnt ist. Platziert
in einer Umgebung aus Stadtarchitektur und Wasserwegen entsteht ein Bild,
das fremd anmutet: einerseits, weil Schaum auf dem Wasser bestimmte inhaltliche
Assoziationen hervorruft, andererseits, weil durch Material und Dimension
der Installation eine ästhetische Manipulation der Situation eintritt,
die den Blick auf das Gewohnte verändert.
Foam structures consisting of floating rings made of siphon pipes.
Floating rings of different diameters consolidate into a foam-like structure. Borrowing the structures
occurring in natural forms this work, made from Polyethylen siphon pipes constructed into identical ring
formations of different sizes, is an abstract study of proportions.
Placed in an environment of city architecture and waterways a distant alien image arises: on the one hand foam
on water evokes special content associations, on the other hand an aesthetic manipulation of the Spreecanal
situation is achieved by means of the materials and dimensions of the installation, and gives way to a
different perception of the surroundings.
